Project Overview
“Just in the nick of time”!
Western Reserve Grace Church and their wonderful staff were sitting 7 weeks away from opening weekend (Easter weekend) with no AVL installation contractor... or even a design.
We were able to fly out for a quick visit and then get to work! We felt very blessed to "save the day" and provide the high performance AVL system they needed, that fit the budget, and could be installed within their short time frame.
The challenges for this project were not only the budget and time fame, but also the venue itself. Western Reserve has a huge heart for the community and so they chose to build a structure that would first be used as a community center and second, host contemporary worship services on weekends.
It's what we "lovingly" call a "CafeGYMatorium". A room with parallel walls and hard floors used for basketball, dodge ball, banquets and oh so much more… This type of room typically has many ceiling obstructions (as the basketball backboards need to fold up, etc.). We were able to overcome these issues through retractable projection screens and high output portable projectors that have a short throw and low Fstop.
As far as room acoustics go, CPK Construction (Macedonia, OH) was on-board with treating the room with the right acoustic treatment necessary to create the worship experience that fit the style and needs of the Church. This made all the difference as they followed our acoustical design to a tee.
The project was finished on time and under budget; but most of all we exceeded expectations and on open weekend Western Reserve had over three times the normal attendance.
